ADA guides us to prioritize repairs first in civic areas followed by commercial areas, then residential areas. This guidance helped us in preparing our 5 year model. With over 502 PED Ramps placed or constructed in the last ten (10) years with a focus to accessible routes in civic areas, the use of CDBG grant funds to work on routes in the low to moderate income areas, capturing the partnership in safe route to schools, as well as working in the overlay program areas, the ADA compliance team has repaired and replaced 122,175 square feet of sidewalk which in total has brought 8.4 miles of sidewalk into compliance.
