Acquired in 2007 by the Coeur d'Alene Arts Commission as a donation from Greenstone Corporation.

In it's Public Art Master Plan, the Coeur d'Alene Arts Commission identified intersections that have roundabouts as potential locations for public art. In April, 2007, the commission was approached by Greenstone Corporation regarding the donation of the "Bear" sculpture for siting on the roundabout at Hanley and Cornwall in the Coeur d'Alene Place development. The art work was subsequently accepted by the City of Coeur d'Alene on June 5, 2007. Greenstone Corporation also maintains the landscaping and irrigation of the site.
