Design Review Commission
The City of Coeur d'Alene has two (2) vacancies on the Design Review Commission (DRC) and is seeking applications from qualified individuals. One seat must be filled by a person licensed in building or site design, or a registered architect licensed in the State of Idaho. The other seat must be filled by a real estate professional. The DRC is comprised of seven members appointed by the Mayor and Council that plays a major role in nearly all aspects of design review. The DRC’s duties include: protecting property rights and values; enhancing the built environment, making reports, holding public hearings and performing all other duties as may be prescribed by the Idaho Code and the City Code; reviewing development proposals as required by the City Code; providing recommendations to the City Council on issues that the City Council may refer to the commission; and complying with all city policies, procedures, and regulations. Typically, DRC members would serve for a 4-year term; however, the two vacancies are for partial terms. The seat filled by a person licensed in building or site design, or a registered architect licensed in the State of Idaho would have a term that would expire on May 1, 2027. The seat filled by a real estate professional would have a term that would expire on May 1, 2028.
