All residential and commercial Backflow Prevention Assemblies must be tested annually. The City of Coeur d'Alene has been working with the State of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on the City's Cross Connection Control Program. We are required to enforce City Ordinance 3525 (2015) and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality Rule IDAPA 58.01.08 dealing with cross connection control issues and the required annual testing of backflow assemblies.
As required by the City code, a successful test of the assembly must be completed by an Idaho certified tester and the results sent to the Water Department. Non-compliance may result in termination of water service and additional service fees being added to your billing account.
