Evening Briefing Report

Kootenai County, Idaho:  Following the evening briefing of the Kootenai County Emergency Operations Center Unified Command, we now have three confirmed case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kootenai County.

According to the Panhandle Health District, the two new cases involve a male and female. The first is a male under the age of 30 who has been self-isolating since returning from travel. The second involves a female in her 60’s, who is also self-isolating. Both are experiencing mild symptoms that do not require hospitalization. As of 4:00 p.m., for the State of Idaho, there are a total of 31 confirmed cases; three in Kootenai County, one in Canyon, four in Ada County, 19 in Blaine County, one in Twin Falls County, one in Madison County, one in Fremont County and one in Teton.

As of this writing, there have been 692 people tested through the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories and 219 tested through commercial laboratories. Numbers broken down by age group who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, there are 16 between the ages of 19-49 and 15 over the age of 50.

We will continue to have an updated media release on Saturday but not on Sunday, unless there are significant changes that require an update.
