Take a break and beat the heat with free movies to be screened in the Seagraves Children’s Library each Wednesday in August at 1 p.m.
The films will be: Aug. 3 - “Zootopia;” Aug. 10 - “Justice League, Cosmic Clash;” Aug. 17 - “Remember the Titans;” and Aug. 31, “ET the Extraterrestrial.”
Children can continue to track the time they read, or are read to, in their Reading Logs and bring them to the library through Aug. 31 to collect prizes for every three hours of reading time.
Also through the end of the month, each time children visit the library they can vote for their school to win the privilege of displaying the Summer Reading Traveling Trophy in their school library during the coming year.
After a two-week closure, Aug. 1-14, the Lake City Public Library on Ramsey Road will resume its LEGO Club program, Tuesdays at 4 p.m., and its Storytime for preschool and younger school-aged children, Wednesdays at 10 a.m. to the end of August.
Children under 6 visiting the library need to be supervised by an adult or a person who is at least 14 even during programs. Children ages 6-9 should be accompanied by someone who is at least 14 who will remain in the building.
