City street crews on Tuesday finished collecting leaves from streets throughout the city. There are still a few remaining piles in area parks and parking lots. Those will be removed on Wednesday. The official total is 791 loads weighing 1,688 tons. That compares with last year’s total of 806 loads weighing 2,100 tons. Last year was wetter, resulting in the higher tonnage, according to Terry Leigh of the street department.
