2019 Grant Timeline: October 1- November 4, 2019
Update: The City’s 2019 Community Opportunity Grant closed on November 4th with six applications having been accepted from various Coeur d’Alene non-profits. Projects range from public services to public facility rehabilitation. This will be a competitive cycle as funding requests total $397,837 with $196,520 in CDBG funding available. An Ad Hoc Review Committee will likely meet in December and recommendations from the committee will then be presented before City Council in January of 2020.
Background: The City receives an annual allocation from the Housing and Urban Development Agency (HUD). With roughly half this funding, the City manages an annual Community Opportunity Grant accepting proposals for projects benefitting low to moderate income Coeur d’Alene residents and neighborhoods. The 2019 cycle of Community Opportunity Grants will be available October 1, 2019 with a total funding availability of $196,520. Of the total funding available, a maximum of $44,000 will be available for public service type grants. The 2018 Annual Action Plan reflects that the 2018 Community Opportunity Grant project totaled $191,820.00 in available funding. The below activities were ultimately awarded for funding by the Mayor and City Council on November 6, 2018 and March 19, 2019.

Funds remaining in the 2018 Community Opportunity Grant budget total $2,596.50 and will be held for inclusion in the 2019 Community Opportunity Grant fund.
