Financial Transparency

The Finance Department plays a key role in transparency of City financials and is responsible for the overall financial controls of the community's funds.

Coeur d'Alene, like other municipalities in Idaho, undergoes annual audits by an independent, third-party auditor of its financials in accordance with State and City laws. The City's financials are prepared in accordance with State and Federal laws.

The City of Coeur d'Alene is committed to transparent community government in order to promote accountability, inform our citizens and to ensure local government is more participatory. Public engagement allows for additional collaboration, which enhances government effectiveness and improves decisionmaking.

In 2017 the City introduced a financial transparency website to help citizens better understand the budget. Click here to learn more.
