North Idaho Landscaping and Forestry (NILF) has completed handwork in the Fernan Natural Area. 

The last areas for handwork included a 1.2 acre patch at the bottom of the hill, next Fernan Lake, and a 0.8 acre stream buffer below Armstrong Park, in the mechanical treatment area.  

The mechanical work is scheduled to begin on Monday 09/27/2021 This will result in trail closures up to the closure of the entire natural area for a limited time. The Mechanical work is expected to take two (2) to four (4) weeks.  Further information will be sent out as a heads-up when we enter the next phase of the project which will be pile burning.
