A new piece of public art honoring 9-11 first responders will be dedicated at the newly completed Fire Station 4 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9.

The art piece, entitled “Twin Towers,” created by artist Robert Stone of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was originally part of the City of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission’s ArtCurrents art-on-loan program, and was recently purchased by the commission for permanent display at the new Fire Station 4 at 6564 N. Atlas Road.  The City’s Public Art Ordinance, adopted in June 1999, established funding of public art that provides public visibility and impact.

The public art dedication ceremony will be immediately following the new Fire Station 4 dedication ceremony.  Citizens are invited to enjoy the Station 4 Open House, which will include tours, kids’ activities, demonstrations, and much more!
