Fernan Lift Station Retrofit Project to Improve Coeur d'Alene's Sewer System

Posted: 9/13/2019 9:40:35 AM

In an ongoing effort to serve improve service, The City of Coeur d’Alene Wastewater Utility will soon begin construction to upgrade the Fernan Lift Station located on the northeast corner of Fernan Court and Fernan Road. The existing sewerage lift station predates the 1990’s, and these upgrades will improve the system’s reliability and functionality.

The project will begin Monday, September 16, 2019 and is expected to take up to three months to complete. Residents in the immediate vicinity will receive 48-hour and 24-hour notices before construction commences. Work is scheduled to take place between 7 a.m. -10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and possibly during some weekends and/or holidays.

No sewer or water outages are expected at this time. If a sewer or water outage does occur, service will be reinstated as soon as possible. Noise-abatement sound enclosures will be used to minimize disturbances to the surrounding neighborhood.

All work will be confined to publicly-owned property and the right-of-way. There will be minor, periodic interruptions to traffic flow in the neighborhood; flaggers and detour routes will redirect any disruptions to local traffic.
