A City of Coeur d’Alene resident, Michelle Martens, is organizing a first responder appreciation day on October 16, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00p.m. At Coeur d’Alene Fire Station 4 located at 6564 N Atlas

Michelle has several members of her family; uncles and cousins, who have served their communities as Firefighters, Fire Chiefs, and Police and Security Officers.  For years she has wanted to see the community come out to show their support to their first responders.

Michelle started to float the idea around the community, and the results have been more than she ever expected.  She was able to get 100 dozen doughnuts, coffee will be supplied by the Human Bean as well as gifts cards to Texas Roadhouse and many others who donated to the event.  Each first responder that attends will be entered into a raffle for the donated items.

Michelle also has volunteers who will be making stops at the Public Safety Building and Central Dispatch as those responders may not be able to attend in person.

The public is invited to Coeur d’Alene Fire Station 4 6564 N Atlas, to share in this event and take a moment to thank your first responders for the work they do for their community.
