The City of Coeur d’Alene’s major City Hall remodel project begins April 10 with revisions to parking access and how visitors enter the facility.

Visitors should enter City Hall, at 710 E. Mullan Ave., from the upper level, which is connected to the shared parking with the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.

Much of the lower level parking will be closed while contractor Ginno Construction mobilizes and begins to renovate the facility. The project is estimated to be completed by October 2017. Signage will be posted to help visitors with parking and entry to the building.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to utilize the City’s website at cdaid.org for online utility bill pay or to mail payments, and contractors can apply for permits, submit plans and schedule inspections at the City’s website as well. This will help avoid having to make a trip to City Hall during the active construction period.

Improvements are focused on improving the experience for visitors, including a new customer service center, upgrades to the HVAC systems, new ADA-compliant bathrooms and security upgrades for public and staff safety.

The first phase of construction will include the lower level improvements and work to prepare a new, ADA-accessible elevator shaft, which will be accessed from what is now the entrance on that level.
