City creates snow plow update map for community

The City of Coeur d’Alene will continue to enhance information sharing to the community with a new interactive snow plow update map.

This map, created thanks to free tools from Google, will allow residents and business owners to see what roads have been plowed and what areas are still being worked on.

“We are always looking at new, innovative ways to help keep our community in the know,” said Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor. “We’re excited to use this free technology to better inform our residents.”

The City's goal this year is to complete an entire communitywide plowing of all 250 miles of streets within 30 hours.

The map will be live once plowing begins, and with the February 3 snow, and more forecasted for the weekend, initial updates will likely begin by the morning of Saturday, Feb. 4. This is a new system for City staff, so we ask for your patience as we work out kinks.
