Poll shows support for E. Sherman revitalization

By wide margin, a majority of citizens who responded to this month’s CityPoll question (Should East Sherman be Revitalized?) favored moving forward with improvements. There were 140 ‘Yes’ votes and 38 ‘No’ votes.

Community Planning Director Hilary Anderson said she was encouraged by the results.

“While we know this is not a scientific poll, it indicates that there is broad support in the community to consider ways to create more energy in the corridor,” Anderson said. “The city has also received a lot of great feedback at two well-attended town hall meetings and at the recent CDA 2030 Annual Celebration where there was an opportunity for the community to vote on ‘easy wins’ for East Sherman.”

Each month, a CityPoll question is posted on the city’s website (cdaid.org). Responses are carefully reviewed by city staff and considered in the strategic planning process to assure the city is being responsive to citizens while providing the best possible services.
